Our main funder in 2010 was the Directorate General for
International Cooperation (DGIS) of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign
Affairs. Other important (funding) partners were the Dutch NGOs
Hivos, Cordaid and PSO, with whom we co-funded a number
of long-term ICT initiatives.
In total we received just over €6 million in funding. This
was less than anticipated and mainly the result of the global economic
crisis of 2009. Next to funding, we also received contributions in kind
(staff time) as well as in computers and other hardware and software
donated by private foundations and private sector companies such as
Microsoft, Inter Access, Altran, TNO, Atos Origin and KPN, and the
non-Dutch NGOs Close the Gap and SPIDER.
We are committed to helping our local partners continue their
ICT-based activities independently from IICD. That is why we advise and
assist our partners to obtain direct third party contributions
for their programmes and projects. These funds flow directly to the
partners. The total amount generated in the years 2009/2010 was €
2,4 million.
