IICD profiled its work at Africa Day 2009 (Afrikadag in Dutch) in the Netherlands. This annual event brings together Africans, people who work in Africa and a general audience interested in the continent. IICD showcased its Global Teenager Project (GTP) at the event. Through a workshop, participants learned how school children in Ghana communicate with their peers all over the world via the web. IICD also featured GTP in its Global Connection Lounge. Set up like an African school, the lounge provided a spot where people could chat online with Ghanaian students.
