IICD was the proud recipient of the internationally recognized ISO 9001:2008 certification. This certification recognises outstanding service to partners and clients and certifies that formalised business processes are being applied. Each year an external auditor visits IICD to look at how it communicates with its partners and how IICD keeps its partners satisfied. “ISO also looks at our internal work processes,” says IICD’s Coordinator Quality/Officer Finance, Zilpa Verlaat. “They look at how we do our work and determine if we put in practice what we describe. The auditor for instance checks if there is a clear link between our annual plans and the staff’s work plans.” The evaluation in 2009 was highly positive.
